ECONOMY

The economy is weighing on the mind of many citizens of Nevada, from filling up our cars with gas to buying groceries. The best way to shore up the economy of this country is a comprehensive plan including:

Voting to make the Bush Tax Cuts permanent.
Significantly cutting out of control spending in Washington. I will not vote for any foreign aid packages, I would support closing our military bases overseas and bringing those troops home to reopened bases in communities where there have been military base closures, and vote to cut off all federal funding of any program to benefit those here illegally.
I would introduce legislation to suspend the Federal Gas Tax for one full year, and will consistently vote for any initiative that reduces taxes. I would sponsor legislation to end taxation on tip income. I will NEVER vote for a tax increase, rather I would work toward the elimination of the Federal Income Tax.
Working toward the eventual elimination of the Federal Department of Education, and the excessive spending that goes with it, and returning control of education to the states and local municipalities where it rightfully belongs.
I would vote consistently to allow drilling for oil at ANWR in Alaska, offshore oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, to start construction of additional oil refineries, and to develop a comprehensive energy policy for this country that includes updating our out-of-date power infrastructure for better efficiency to meet the growing power demands of the country. I support the exploration of alternative energy sources, but not at the expense of the American taxpayer.
I would vote against any federal requirement on the usage of Ethanol and any subsidies on it's production. Rather, I would like to see the market dictate whether this or some other alternative fuel can be less expensive. I would support a tax credit for those who purchase a Hybrid or Electric vehicle.
This country, specifically the Federal Reserve, needs to stop printing money every time there is a new crisis, this only causes more inflation and higher prices for the items you and I need every day, because our dollar only gets weaker so it takes more of them to buy what we need. We need to return to the Gold Standard to shore up our currency and once again give us the most sound currency in the world.

SECOND AMENDMENT

I want to make my position regarding our Second Amendment rights clear, there is a movement within this country to reduce these basic rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution. As your Congressman, I would:

Support legislation to eliminate the Brady Background Check.
Support legislation to allow citizens to carry firearms in our National Parks.
Oppose any attempt to reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban or any other ban on high capacity magazines or possession of a particular type of semi-automatic firearm. This would include any back door disarmarment legislation, such as regulations on the amount of ammunition we can purchase or possess, or frivolous lawsuits against gun manufacturers.
I will be a vocal advocate of our withdrawal from the United Nations, which as a body seeks to ban privately transfered firearms.

I am also a member of the National Rifle Association.

VETERANS

Our Veterans have made sacrifices in their lives and for their country, and this is a debt that we as a Nation need to repay to those who have served.

Veterans deserve the best health care in the world, I will consistently stand up for improving the VA and Veterans Benefits. VA Hospitals should be some of the best facilities in the world, and I will consistently rise to the challenge of making this happen as your Congressman.

No Veteran should ever have to give up their retirement pay to receive disability benefits, and I will vote against any legislation that requires this. This is a tax on Disabled Veterans in which all of us as Americans should be ashamed.

I will work to ensure that the widows/widowers of those that make the supreme sacrifice while serving our country are given a full military pension, plus an additional stipend for dependent children under the age of 18.

HEALTH CARE

The rising cost of Health Care is on the minds of many Nevadans. As your Congressman, I would fight for the following:

Making all Health Care costs tax deductable, including health insurance premiums.
Allow Doctors the freedom to collectively negotiate with Insurance Companies to drive down the cost of insurance for everyone.
I would stand in opposition to any attempt to create a National Health Care System run by the Federal Government. This will only cause a reduction of choices, long waiting periods, and additional government wasteful spending that we cannot afford.

IMMIGRATION

Illegal Immigration is an out of control crisis in this country that threatens to destroy us as a Nation and bankrupt us economically. As Congressman, I would support:

Immediately secure the borders, using troops that we bring home that are stationed around the world. Build the border fence and secure our Southern border and our coastlines. This is a matter of protecting our National Security!
Eliminating all benefits to those who come here illegally. No Social Security benefits, no free health care, no more birthright citizenship, no welfare benefits, no free education programs, and absolutely NO AMNESTY.
Severely punishing company owners or corporations that knowingly hire illegal immigrants with punitive fines, and also making government agencies that give services to illegal immigrants accountable.
English should be the one and only official language of this Nation. If Immigrants wish to come here and live in our great Nation legally, they need to learn our language. Our ballots should be printed in English only, and need to be hand-counted paper ballots for all elections.
