James Smack

I was born in 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri to Larry and Nancy Smack.  My father was a military contractor/engineer, my mother a hospital administrator, and I was raised in Missouri, Ohio, and Massachusetts.  I learned the value of hard work and a good education from my parents, and they are my heroes!

I went to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in 1989.  During my time at UMass, I was elected to the Student Senate for three years and was the Student Government Finance Chair for one year.  I worked on a couple of local Republican campaigns as well during my time living in Massachusetts, including a campaign for Governor in 1990.

Since graduating, I have worked as a Front Desk Manager in a luxury hotel, a Training Manager for a large retail chain, I have done Outside Sales and currently I manage a Pawn Shop in the Reno/Sparks area.  Throughout my working career, I have lived in a number of states, but a little over 4 years ago my wife and I voluntarily relocated to Nevada, and we have immersed ourselves within the Fallon community.  I have been married for almost 8 years to my wife, Vicki, and we have five fur children, including a Show Champion/Weight Pull Champion American Pit Bull Terrier and a Show Grand Champion Staffordshire Bullterrier.

In my spare time, I enjoy competitive and recreational shooting, exploring the remote areas of our beautiful state via 4x4 and hiking, taking our dogs to compete in dog shows, bowling, and playing poker.  My wife and I also volunteer with the Churchill Animal Protection Society, and are both members of the Stillwater Firearms Association in Fallon. I am also a member of the National Rifle Association.
